Three years and counting! I can not believe how much fun 3 years old is becoming! Where does the time go? Three is a pretty big deal. There is more {understandable} conversation and it is the first year kids begin to understand the fun of a birthday party. Chase is really into cars, Lego's, trucks, Mickey Mouse, dinosaurs and the show Dinosaur Train! So it was no question when I asked him what kind of party theme he wanted, except his response was CHOCOLATE and then Dinosaur Train... funny little man. A chocolate party would have been pretty amazing but since I have exceeded my take on chocolate lately we will just include it in the dessert table.
Since Dinosaurs are a big thing in our home, this was such a fun dinosaur birthday party to plan! We started out with making a Dinosaur Bone Digging area where kids can dig for bones in a sandbox. My husband made this two days before the party and having it has been a party itself.
Then the details.... Tissue Paper pom-poms, dinosaur cake, a menu including dinosaur eggs on a stick {aka: red and green grapes}, herbivore veggie tray (with fun chevron treat cups for veggies), chips, pizza and gluten free sandwiches. Pin-The-Tail on Shiny from Dinosaur Train is fun game. Paint your favorite dinosaur on a giant piece of white cardboard.
My husband used scraps from his construction site to make signs. I just painted them with Chalk Paint from Michael's Arts and Crafts Store with a foam brush.
