If you have a toddler like mine that likes to draw on everything, good luck. The sofa, our built in bookshelf and the walls seem to have a new shade of color each day. Luckily it is all washable and not permanent new decor. I decided to give my son a designated chalkboard area for coloring on walls, but hesitated for a while because I did not want to have to paint my cabinets or walls with chalkboard paint. Then I stumbled upon this Adhesive Backed Chalk Roll at Michael's! It is great- removable, repositionable and you can cut it to any size!
Next up was to personalize it a bit with a DIY matching eraser and chalk holder. All you need is a clean can, duct tape sheets (you read right- they come in sheets!), and a chalkboard eraser. My son loves penguins and I found the cutest penguin pattern that he was so excited about. The eraser was ugly at the top so I trimmed my duct tape sheet to size, then also cut and wrapped it around the can.
