Why this ginger and turmeric shots recipe works
Lemon helps to detox and alkaline the body's pH levels and provides loads of vitamin C. Lemon, ginger, and turmeric - all three of these called phytochemicals are rich in antioxidants have effects against oxidative damage that can cause illnesses, specifically cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Ginger turmeric shots are great to help prevent these illnesses.
Homemade wellness shots are affordable and less costly. I love a good DIY home and health remedy that doesn't cost an arm and a leg like Homemade Elderberry Syrup, Apple Cider Vinegar Shots, and Wellness Shots. This ginger turmeric shot is so simple to make using either a juicer or a blender for a fraction of the price that it costs at the store.
Key ingredients
- 1-inch of fresh peeled fresh ginger root
- 1-inch of fresh peeled turmeric (and if you have exra, you can grate fresh turmeric into this Turmeric Tea Recipe)
- half an orange and lemon with skin and rind cut off (if using a blender method remove rind and peel)
- black pepper - Black pepper is an important ingredient which helps the body best absorb turmeric and it's nutrients.
- a pinch of cayenne pepper (optional to add a little spicy kick and not shown in image below)
- cinnamon
Lemon juice and orange juice add sweetness and flavor, but you can also add a ½ tablespoon of honey if it tastes like you prefer it sweeter.
How to make ginger and turmeric shots
This ginger turmeric shot recipe is best to make in a juicer but if you do not have one then no problem! You can make it in a high powered blender by either grating the ginger and turmeric first or adding about 2 tablespoons of water. It turns it into a very condensed and full of flavor turmeric and ginger juice!
How to make it in a blender
Remove the peel from the lemon and orange. Add the turmeric, ginger, lemon, orange, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon into a high powered blender such as a Vitamix. If it is not mixing well add 2 tablespoon of water or grate the turmeric and ginger first. Using a mesh bag or nut bag, place the bag over a large bowl to strain and separate the fibers from the juice and pour the juice into the bag. Squeeze the bag tightly numerous times until all of the juice is drained into the bowl and the fibers are separated then pour into a glass and enjoy.
How to make it in a juicer
Add the ginger, turmeric, lemon, orange, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon to a juicer and enjoy! You can leave the peel on the orange and lemon since the juicer does the work. Since it is highly acidic, I recommend rinsing your mouth and teeth with water after taking a ginger turmeric shot.
Storing shots in the fridge
Store these turmeric ginger shots in airtight containers or jars the fridge for up to 5 days. Although they are best and more potent consumed freshly made.

This article is not to diagnose or treat but to supply information. I advise, with any new wellness regimen, always consult with your doctor first especially if taking medications as large doses of ginger (or high doses of ginger supplements) can effect blood sugar levels and diabetes.
