A tropical smoothie that will have you dreaming of being on an island by the sea! Made with carrots, pineapple, mango, banana, lime, blood oranges, turmeric and ginger.
The warmer weather is here! From my mom who lives on the east coast I hear it is about 80 degrees.. wow, that is warm for April! She is coming to visit today and I know she is excited for the weather to be a bit cooler and our daily tropical visits to the beach. Her favorite thing to do is to go to the dog beach where locals let their dogs run freely and everyone is enjoying walks and laying out in the warm sand.
All we need are a few waiters walking by with a freshly opened coconut to sip.
Our neighbor so graciously gave us a bunch of juicy blood oranges – too many to eat up right away! I juiced them to add to homemade detox water with lime and later turned it into smoothies and ice pops.
If you do not have blood oranges around feel free to use coconut water in the recipe.
