The BEST Green Smoothie Recipe! A healthy and easy green smoothie made with spinach, parsley, mango and pineapple. This green smoothie recipe can be turned into a smoothie bowl too. It hydrates, energizes, is delicious and has the option for adding supplements for more nutrition!
Benefits of drinking a green smoothie
This easy greens smoothie helps to support digestion, provide glowing skin, boost the immune system and deflate puffiness (yes, please!) and is loaded with vitamin A with the right blend of fresh ingredients! Plus in addition to these green vegetables, you can add your favorite green fruits like kiwi too!
It is a super simple green smoothie recipe that you can make with ingredients you probably already have around, or that can be easily stocked in the freezer for a nourishing snack, breakfast or any meal, anytime! No fancy extras here, but I do share add-in smoothie ingredients that can be blended in addition for extra nutritional value.

Key Ingredients
Spinach: Spinach is the heart of a green smoothie recipe and one of the best healthy green leaves to eat! This leafy green is rich in protein, iron, calcium and low in calories.
Parsley: There is a good reason when you eat at fancy restaurants many times the main meal comes with a garnish of parsley leaves on the side. It is good for digestion and helps the body easily break down and absorb nutrients. I just use about 1-2 tablespoons of fresh parsley in this smoothie and you do not even taste it.
Mango and Pineapple, frozen: Use frozen peeled and diced mango's and pineapples. They are loaded with vitamin c and fiber to help flush out toxins. Plus they are naturally super sweet so they make this green smoothie taste amazing!
Banana, frozen: Bananas give this smoothie recipe its creaminess. It blends all the flavors together. Bananas are rich in fiber and potassium which helps the stay hydrated. A hydrated body is able to flush away toxins more easily which helps to make bowel movements (yes I went there! But we are all human!) and skin radiant and smooth.
Coconut Water: Coconut water also contains large amounts of potassium to help hydrate the body and also magnesium. Both also helps to regulate blood pressure and maintain a healthier heart.

How to make a green smoothie
Place the spinach, parsley, mango pineapple, banana, and coconut water in a blender. I suggest using a high-powered blender such as a Vitamix (my favorite!).
Smoothie supplements and add-in's
Here are a few ideas for extra nutrition that can be added to this basic smoothie recipe.
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
- 2 tablespoons Pea Protein Powder (plain, not flavored)
- 1 teaspoon Spirulina Powder
- 1 teaspoon Chlorella Powder
- 1 scoop of favorite Greens Drink Powder (I like to drink this one in the mornings)
Can I use frozen spinach instead of fresh spinach
You can use frozen spinach as well, but since it is more condensed you will need only 1 cup, not 2 cups.
Can I store this smoothie to save for later
I do not suggest that. This green smoothie recipe is best served right away. It is made with banana and if a smoothie with banana sets out too long it changes the consistency and the ingredients become separated.
Can I turn this green smoothie into a smoothie bowl
Yes! It is really good as a smoothie bowl, like this acai bowl recipe and matcha green smoothie bowl. To turn it into a smoothie bowl, add 1-4 cup liquid and move up from there to a ½ so the consistency is thicker.
