How to freeze grapes to eat
Freezing grapes is simple to do with a few steps using a sheet pan and parchment paper, dish towel, or paper towel.
- Rinse the grapes in the sink first with filtered water to remove any dirt and soil. Use a colander or salad spinner and place the grapes in it. Under the kitchen faucet, spray it with fresh water. Dry them off with a paper towel or dish towel to remove the excess water.
- Add grapes to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Remove the grapes from the grape vine and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You can also line the pan with a dish towel or paper towel, although I prefer to use parchment paper so no fibers get on the grapes. Spread them out evenly so they do not overlap.
- Freeze the grapes. Place the baking pan with the grapes on them in the freezer for 2-3 hours. This should be enough time for the grapes to harden. Additional time may be needed for larger amounts.
- Store them in a plastic freezer bag. Write the date on the plastic freezer bag and transfer the frozen grapes into the bag. Remove as much air as possible and seal it closed. Store in the freezer for up to a year.
