If you’re serious about juicing and looking for a high-quality, efficient juicer, the Hurom Slow Juicer might be on your radar. Known for its sleek design and exceptional juicing capabilities, this juicer is a popular choice among health enthusiasts. So far I have tested it on my Detox Beet Juice, Detox Green Juice, Ginger Shots and Carrot Juice recipes and it has been exceptionally easy to use and clean.
But does it live up to the hype? In this review, we’ll dive into what makes the Hurom Slow Juicer stand out, its pros and cons, convenience, ease of cleaning, and more.
About the Hurom Slow Juicer
The Hurom Slow Juicer is a masticating juicer, which means it operates at a slower speed compared to centrifugal juicers. By squeezing and crushing fruits and vegetables slowly, it extracts maximum juice while preserving nutrients and enzymes.
Hurom is known for producing high-quality appliances, and this slow juicer is no exception. It's designed to handle everything from leafy greens to hard vegetables and fruits, delivering a nutrient-dense juice that’s packed with flavor.
Convenience
When it comes to convenience, the Hurom Juicer delivers on multiple fronts. The machine operates quietly compared to traditional juicers, so you can enjoy juicing early in the morning without waking up the household. It’s also compact and doesn’t take up too much counter space, making it a good option for smaller kitchens.
The Hurom Slow Juicer features a self-feeding hopper, meaning you don’t have to stand over it the entire time pushing down produce. This feature adds to its convenience and makes juicing more hands-off.
However, it does require prep work—fruits and vegetables need to be cut into smaller pieces to fit into the feeding chute, which can be time-consuming.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- High Juice Yield: The slow masticating process extracts more juice from fruits and vegetables compared to other types of juicers.
- Nutrient Retention: The low-speed operation preserves vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, resulting in healthier juice.
- Quiet Operation: The motor operates quietly, making it ideal for early mornings or late-night juicing.
- Versatility: It can juice a wide variety of produce, from soft fruits to hard vegetables and leafy greens.
- Durable Design: Hurom’s juicers are known for their long-lasting durability and sturdy build.
Cons:
- Time-Consuming Prep: You’ll need to chop fruits and vegetables into smaller pieces to fit into the feeding chute, which adds extra time.
- Slower Juicing Process: As a slow juicer, it takes longer to extract juice compared to centrifugal juicers.
- Price: Hurom slow juicers are on the pricier side, which might be a deterrent for those on a budget.
Is It Easy to Clean?
One of the biggest concerns when it comes to juicers is the cleanup, and the Hurom Slow Juicer does well in this area. While it has multiple parts, they are relatively easy to disassemble and clean. It took me less than 3 minutes to handwash and clean my juicer while making a Green Glow Juice.
Most parts are dishwasher-safe, but Hurom recommends hand washing to prolong the lifespan of the components. It comes with a cleaning brush that makes it easier to clean the small nooks and crannies.
However, because of the fine mesh strainer used in the juicing process, cleaning can be a bit tedious if you let it sit too long. To make cleanup easier, it’s best to rinse the juicer immediately after use.
Overall Hurom Juicer Review
I freaking love this juicer! Ok, that is my excited reaction and this is my calmed down reaction: I have been very pleased with my Hurom juicer, it is quiet, has a high juice yield, helps keep nutrients fresh for better absorption in the body, and is overall easy to clean.
I have typically juiced with a blender, and must say the taste is far more potent and flavorful using a fresh pressed juicer. So worth every penny, in my opinion!
It’s perfect for those who prioritize quality over speed and want to get the most out of their produce. Like my Vitamix which has lasted me years, the durable design means it’s built to last, making it a solid investment for serious juicers.
However, it’s not without its drawbacks. It’s also more expensive than some other juicers on the market, so it might not be the best option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly appliance.
Final Hurom Slow Juicer Review: Is the Hurom Slow Juicer Worth It?
If you’re someone who values nutrient-dense, high-quality juice and don’t mind taking a bit of time to prepare and clean, the Hurom Slow Juicer is absolutely worth it. Its high juice yield and retention of nutrients make it stand out in the crowded juicer market.
While it’s an investment, the results speak for themselves—delicious, fresh juice that’s packed with vitamins and flavor.
